| What visas do you need to visit and buy property in Hungary? | ||
|---|---|---|
Current situation for residential property Any person of any nationality can purchase a single residential property in Hungary either in their own name or using a company. A company can buy more than one residential properties and may have tax benefits . Holders of European Union passports can have unrestricted access to their property as long as it is not their primary residence. There are large number of other passports that also have this access and include such countries as Canada and New Zealand. Check with you local Hungarian consulate. Holders of other passports must apply for a Schengen visitors visa from their local Hungarian Consulate (most of them have internet web sites and on-line application forms that you can download) or any other European country which is part of Schengen. The difficulty in obtaining this visa is on a country to country basis. The most difficult being Nigeria and countries of similar status to the easiest examples being Bahamas etc. Ownership of property or directorship of a Hungarian company does not have any affect on visa applications.
