Built around 1725, originally as a country manor home for the Earl Jankovich-Besan family. In 1993 the castle was bought from the Hungarian state by an Australian / Hungarian family with the intention of running the castle and surrounding 7-hectare park as a hotel after having completed the necessary renovation works. Their intention was realised in May 2002.

The garden and the building itself have been declared nature conservation area and they are part of the National Heritage Trust.

Open all year with 25 rooms, all with full ensuites, telephone, colour televisions and mini-bars, 16 metre pool, tennis court, football ground, horse-riding arena, stables, fishing lake, grotto, and 10 hectare parkland and forest.
